Texas Student Media
We train future journalists, editors, radio producers and TV show runners through our award-winning student-run media entities.
We are the "Uncensored Voice" of the United States' largest student body—the University of Texas at Austin. TSM is composed of several student-produced media properties: The Daily Texan newspaper, the humor magazine Texas Travesty, the Cactus yearbook, KVRX 91.7 FM, Burntx.com, and Texas Student Television (TSTV).
If you know of any students who have an interest in Texas Student Media’s continued success (and will be enrolled at UT for the next one or two years) please consider asking them to apply to be a voting member of the TSM Board. Note that a voting TSM Board member cannot hold a paid or regularly-scheduled position at TSM or its media units during their term of office.
Voting members of the TSM Board should commit to attending seven meetings per year, most of which are held on Friday afternoons.
Students with a major in the College of Communication should fill out the Moody application; all others should complete the At-Large application. Thanks for your assistance!
Student manager positions are open for the 2019-2020 academic year. For consideration, use these applications:
KVRX Radio Manager
TSTV Station Manager
Cactus Yearbook Editor-in-Chief
Texas Travesty Editor-in-Chief
Daily Texan Managing Editor
